Clinical Services
Neurofeedback & Brain Mapping
Why does your approach cost more than traditional talk therapy?
You're investing in specialized brain training technology and measurable neurological change. Each session uses clinical-grade qEEG/neurofeeback/biofeedback equipment and photobiomodulation technology. We're working with your nervous system's electrical activity in real time, teaching it new patterns through immediate feedback. This intensive, twice-weekly model creates objective measurable changes that we can track session by session, getting you to lasting results faster than approaches that rely on insight and behavioral change alone. I’m am also one of the few practictioners currently integrating neurofeedback, biofeedback, and photobiomodulation into a single intervention. Sessions last longer because I take the investment of your time and dollars seriously I want the best outcome for you that I can possibly produce in the shortest amount of time.
What does this cost?
This work is specialized and intensive — the kind that produces real, measurable change. It reflects that. This is a private pay practice and pricing is consistent across all clients. Specific pricing is discussed during the discovery conversation, where we can figure out what makes sense for your situation.
Why twice weekly sessions?
Just like going to the gym, our brains needs consistent, frequent practice to build new neural pathways. Once-a-week sessions provides old patterns too much time to reassert themselves between visits. Twice weekly creates the momentum your brain needs to actually change — each 90-minute session builds directly on the previous one.
Will it hurt? Are you shooting electricity into me?
Not at all — we're not putting electricity into you, we're reading the electricity that's already there. Your brain naturally produces electrical activity 24/7. The qEEG sensors simply listen to those signals, like a stethoscope listens to your heartbeat. During Neurofeedback, you'll watch a screen while sensors on your scalp track your brainwaves in real time. Most people find sessions relaxing. No shocks, no pain, no electricity going in. Photobiomodulation uses gentle light therapy — most clients find it completely painless. There may be some minor fatigue, or mild discomfort as your brain and nervous system acclimate to these new tasks.
What if neurofeedback doesn't work for me?
That is an understandable concern. While I cannot guarantee all my clients will benefit from treatment, it is an intervention that, in my opinion, provides the best chance of a positive outcome of anything I have offered in 14 years in the field. Neurofeedback has 60 years of solid peer-reviewed research behind it. We're not experimenting — we're using a well-established method that works directly with your brain's electrical activity. You'll know within the first month if your brain is responding to the training. We can measure progress session by session. I almost never have repeat clients unless they want to reconnect for a tune-up. The literature on these interventions is robust. One important thing to note about this intervention: in practice, qEEG-guided neurofeedback targets the specific brain pattern driving underlying symptoms — patterns that do not map neatly onto diagnoses. For example: persistent Sadness/Depression is most often associated with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), at the same time it is also commonly seen in bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, and PTSD. Biofeedback/Neurofeedback practitioners focus on brain patterns and the symptoms they produce. In this context the idea that For example, Gunkelman (2014) identified at least four distinct brain patterns in ADHD alone. The same complaint can
reflect different brain signatures. The EEG tells us what we are actually working with. Evidence strength outlined below reflects published
clinical research. Formal rating systems have not kept pace, particularly for PTSD and TBI.
What should I expect between sessions?
The training happens in session — your brain is literally learning new patterns in real time. But what you do between sessions matters for how well it sticks. Think of it like going to the gym — the workout builds strength, but recovery, sleep, and nutrition determine how much of that strength you keep.
I'll give you simple, practical suggestions based on your brain map — breathing techniques, sleep hygiene adjustments, basic nervous system regulation practices. We'll also look at lifestyle factors that support or undermine your progress — movement, relationships, community. Nothing complicated, just targeted adjustments.
As your nervous system strengthens, some people find they need less pharmaceutical support over time. I'm not a medical doctor and cannot advise you on medications — that conversation belongs with your prescribing physician. But I can tell you that as your brain learns to regulate itself more effectively, the need for external support often shifts. Any medication changes should always be coordinated with your prescribing physician.
Coaching Questions
The Junction: Ancient Wisdom, Modern Science
How is coaching different from therapy?
Coaching and therapy are fundamentally different relationships with different scopes, obligations, and regulatory frameworks. Therapy addresses mental health conditions, trauma, and psychological dysfunction. It is a licensed clinical relationship governed by state law and ethical codes. Coaching is not therapy. It does not diagnose, treat, or address mental health conditions. The Junction is a structured methodology for people who are functional and ready to build — not people who are in crisis or need clinical support. If you are unsure which is appropriate for where you are, the discovery conversation will clarify that.
What makes this different from other coaching?
Most coaching is either too vague or too motivational. The Junction is neither. It is a structured ten-week methodology built on philosophy, behavioral economics, performance psychology, clinical neuroscience and many other ancient and modern practices. There is a curriculum. There is a progression. There are practices. The goal is not inspiration — it is to have the client graduate from the experience with a design for the life that is deliberate, meaningful, and has practical tools that are useful immediately. By the end of ten weeks you will have a framework for decision-making, guiding principles, desire, action, and resilience that you will use for the rest of your life.
Do I need to know anything about Philosphy?
No. Most clients come in knowing very little about philosopy. That's fine. The methodology is designed to be accessible regardless of philosophical background. All you do need is intellectual curiosity, a willingness to question your assumptions, and a genuine commitment to doing the work. The philosophy will take care of itself.
What does a typical session look like?
Sessions are 60 minutes, conducted via telehealth or in person at my Sandy Springs office. Each session follows the week's curriculum — we review your practice from the previous week, work through the week's core concept, and build your practice for the following week. This is an active process, you are expected to commit to work outside of sessions. We will examine your time management practices and come up with a plan if any adjustment are necessary. You will be challenged, questioned, and held accountable.
For coaching clients who incorporate brain optimization, qEEG-guided neurofeedback is available — because your brain is unique and precision matters. Details are available through the discovery conversation.
